Solar Advocacy for Locals - Panel Discussion

  • Old Dutch Church 272 Wall Street Kingston, New York, 12401 United States (map)

Local support is critical to the success of clean energy projects. Public polling consistently shows that a majority of New Yorkers support renewable energy — but at the local level, a small number of vocal opponents can delay or even stop well-designed solar and storage projects. Too often, the supportive majority stays quiet while a handful of more extreme voices dominate public meetings and opinion pages.

That is why person-to-person conversation is the single most powerful thing we can do to help clean energy projects succeed in the Hudson Valley.

Join this panel discussion to gain perspectives on how we can boost each other and be prepared to stand up for specific solar and battery storage projects where local support can be make-or-break - notably at meetings where supporters can show up and influence the outcome. And, when a neighbor raises a concern, we are ready to listen and connect them to a resource that answers it accurately.

To be an advocate, you do not need to be an expert or an energy professional. You just need to be a trusted, informed neighbor who cares and shares accurate resources. Registration preferred, please REGISTER HERE . Hosted by Third Act Upstate New York.
