Come on out for a stroll through Vassar’s beautiful central campus and learn about how Vassar is responding to the climate crisis. Dr. Ken Foster, Director of Sustainability, will talk about efforts to decarbonize buildings and reduce waste, provide learning opportunities students need to be effective agents of change, and support the health of the campus’s land and its inhabitants. An important part of this will be discussion of the challenges that make rapid progress difficult, as well as strategies to try to overcome the challenges. As we walk among the trees, special attention will be given to the role that the Vassar Arboretum and The Preserve at Vassar play in the college’s climate action. This will be an informal fully outdoor event, with plenty of room for questions and discussion. Space is limited and RSVP is required. Event is free.
